With Instagram makeup artists such as Huda Beauty, NikkieTutorials and KathleenLights paving the way for a beauty revolution, makeup products are becoming as in-demand as the latest fashions, with scores of must-have products promoted by these insta-beauties selling out in minutes!
Here at Please Don’t Tell we have done some investigating of our own to bring you the top beauty trends straight from the AW16 catwalks.
This season the most popular hairstyle that has appeared on catwalk after catwalk is the slicked-back low ponytail with standout accessories. This easy-to-create look is a saviour for all of us who need a quick but chic hairstyle without the fuss.
Valentino championed this look with low, sectioned ponytails and gold jewellery to give it that edge. Click the picture to get the look.
Dior had their own spin on it, instead of a low ponytail they went for this half-up half-down look with a large gold barrette to keep the hair in place. Click the photo to get the look for less.
Christian Dior were also behind this classic chignon hairstyle if you feel brave enough to try it! Simply section the hair into low pigtails, twist the hair, wrap it around the hair ties and pin it into place with some bobby pins! Add some hairspray to keep it in place.
Celebrities have been going crazy over the hair jewellery trend which you’ll know if you Keep Up With The Kardashians as Kim and sister Khloe Kardashian have been loving wearing hair jewellery in their braids.
And this isn’t just a trend to be worn running errands like Kim or posing for a new instagram photo like Khloe, celebs have been wearing this look on the red carpet.
Shay Mitchell of the hit show Pretty Little Liars rocked this look at the recent Teen Choice Awards. Her hairstylist created a high bun with a braid hiding underneath where they then placed the jewellery for a classy but edgy look.
You usually find that the makeup looks we see on runways are definitely not wearable for everyday life, unless you are brave enough then we say go for it! This season has seen a variety of different looks so we decided to bring you our favourites.
Rochas, Chloé and Balmain were all about the no-makeup makeup look. While Balmain and Rochas stayed with the fresh faced models with little foundation and contour, Chloé went for a little bit of black eyeliner on their models.
If you are more daring with your makeup and never leave the house without a full face on, there were plenty of designers who opted for a more glam approach on their runways. At Prada and Marni, makeup artists left the face fairly bare with a bold lip to brighten the look. Click on the image to get a dupe for the lipsticks.
Jill Sander, Versace, Giamba and Fendi on the other hand, focused solely on the eyes going for either smokey, brights on metallics to set their look.
Marc Jacobs went completely gothic and while its not exactly an everyday look for everyone, it is stunning to look at! If you think this look is too bold for you, try taking either the lip or the eyes from this look and wear them separately. Urban Decay sell a wonderful black lipstick called Perversion so you can copy this look. A Kohl black eyeliner is best to recreate the eye look, which you can also get from urban decay here.
By far our favourite beauty look from the AW16 runway came from Rodarte. Their ethereal clothes needed the perfect makeup to take that otherworldly look to the next level. They incorporated one of beauty’s most popular tricks of the moment, strobing, into the look to highlight the model’s faces as well as a berry-bitten lip. The look was set off with sweet flower crowns, making the models look like fairy’s gliding down the catwalk! Take a look at the pictures below…
