FAKING IT

According to this month’s issue of Vogue faking it has never looked so good. We’re talking about jewellery of course, imitation jewels to be precise. Thanks to a gemstone imitation called ‘paste’ we can enjoy the sparkle and opulence of jewels without having to break the bank balance for the real thing.

And at the forefront of this ‘faking it’ trend is Indian born jeweller Mawi Keivom whose self-titled label has become the go-to for statement costume jewellery with an eclectic edge. In a recent interview to Vogue UK she says, “our consumer is more in-tune with trends and because of our price point she is more experimental. She is more confident about wearing these pieces regularly rather than once a year, or for special occasions only.”

Wear Mawi’s statement jewellery with this season’s simple sweaters and understated blouses for the ultimate impact but Please Don’t Tell…
